Mazda's new plant in Alabama - a joint venture with Toyota - will provide a Mazda model that's specific to the U.S. market. The operations at this plant will include Toyota components and with that comes a hybrid powertrain.

It's uncertain as to where this new model will fit into the Mazda lineup, but it's likely that it will fall between the compact CX-5 and the three-row CX-9. This vehicle is meant to go into production in 2022.
