The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced that the 2021 Mazda CX-30 has been added to the list of Mazda vehicles that earn its highest award, the 2020 TOP SAFETY PICK+. The 2021 CX-30 (built after September 2020) joins the 2021 Mazda3 Sedan and Hatchback, Mazda6, CX-3, CX-5, and CX-9 as 2020 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award recipients. Even more noteworthy, the Mazda brand leads the automotive industry with more TOP SAFETY PICK + awards than any other auto manufacturer.

In order to qualify for the 2020 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, a vehicle must earn good ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. The CX-30 earned all of these ratings plus it achieved superior ratings for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention, and is equipped with standard good-rated headlights when built after September 2020.
