We Have Big Engine News!

There's big news in the land of Mazda! The brand is currently building a straight-six turbodiesel, which will be used in the 2023 Mazda CX-60 crossover. This engine will be 3.3 liters and reach 251-hp and 406 lb-ft torque in its most dynamic configuration. That's not all! This engine will also come equipped with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

This engine will feature new technology, which will allow it to be as efficient as possible. It was designed with a system that the brand has called Distribution-Controlled Partially Premixed Compression Ignition (DCPCI). Compression ignition is used in diesel engines to light the fuel and air mixture in the cylinder.

The model is currently set to debut in the UK in early 2023. The US doesn't have a huge presence of the CX-60 or diesel, so we will have to wait and see if it will hit the market in the states.
