The Electric Volvo XC40 SUV Joins the Ranks of Electric Automotives
The all-electric XC40 is not only Volvo's most innovative automobile available, it's also the safest. Due to the absence of an internal combustion engine, Volvo has added in more safety features in its place.
The newly-developed front crash structure enhances safety and strength to the SUV's front-end. On top of this, Volvo has also developed an aluminum safety “cell” that will protect the front passenger from injuries by crumpling around them in the event of a collision.
To reduce the likelihood of roll-overs, Volvo has decided to keep the battery cell in the rear of the car under the floorboard to lower the center of gravity.
