Take Your Pick!
-
If you haven't done any renovations lately, it may surprise you to find out how many different types of sinks are available. At Build A Bath & Kitchen, we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of options to help our customers design their absolutely perfect dream bathroom space. To this end, we thought it would be helpful to go through some of the different types of sinks available, along with the situations where they really shine.
Starting with...
-
Trough Sinks
You can probably guess what these sinks look like. Just like a trough at a farm, these sinks have a fairly deep and wide basin that's ideal if you need to share space or anticipate using the sink to wash larger things. Two-faucet trough sinks are an excellent choice for households where you'll be sharing bathroom space, as they allow two people to effectively use the sink at once without crowding each other.
-
Undermount Sinks
True to their name, undermount sinks are installed underneath the countertop, which frees up a good deal of counter space. While these sinks are commonly stainless steel, they can also be made out of a variety of different ceramic designs. If you're looking to fit a sizable amount of sink space inside a small area, undermount sinks are the way to go.
-
Vessel Sinks
Vessel sinks are mounted on top of your countertop and typically look like bowls, basins, and other vessels. While these sinks take up a lot of space--and can be a bit awkward to fill--they provide a classy modern look for your bathroom. If you anticipate entertaining a lot of guests, these sinks are sure to make your bathroom feel more upscale.
-
Drop-In Sinks
Similar to an undermount sink, drop-in sinks are mounted into the countertop in order to conserve space. Unlike an undermount sink, however, these sinks have edges that poke up above the countertop, giving the room a clean, understated finish. When in doubt, these sinks pair tastefully with just about any design or aesthetic.
-
Wall-Mounted Sinks
These sinks are great for small bathrooms thanks to their compact design. As a result of this, however, they generally have very limited countertop space, making this an awkward fit if you anticipate grooming at the sink every morning. Because of their simple design, they're great for kids' bathrooms where the limited counter space doesn't make as much of a difference.
-
Corner Sinks
These sinks are also an ideal pick for smaller bathrooms, as they're conveniently tucked away, come in a variety of styles, and often include a little extra storage space. If space is a consideration for you, consider grabbing one with an attached cabinet or drawers. This is also a completely valid option if you want all of your hair care products to stay together in a place where you can easily reach them.
