Details on the New S3 Sportback 

Although there are no indications that the new Audi S3 Sportback will make its way to the U.S. (the sedan will likely be ours), we're always excited when a new Audi graces the tarmac -- wherever in the world that might be. In this case, Audi has just dropped some clues as to what's going to be automaker's answer to recent competition in the luxury hot-hatch market -- the Audi S3 Sportback.

Audi-lovers may not be surprised to hear that the new S3 will likely have a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 306 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque -- which is just 10 more than the outgoing Euro-spec model. However, advancements in how it puts that power to the ground are what offer the most promise. Sources say that the new S3 will have a more performance-focused Quattro system like the other all-wheel-drive models in the Audi Sport line. 

To compliment, the new S3 will come with some minor aesthetic updates and a more pronounced progressive steering system complete with modes like 'balanced', 'dynamic', and 'comfort'. The result will likely be a steering feel that's a sharp as the car looks.
