Audi Has Started Production on the New Q4 e-tron

It's an awesome year for fans of Audi's e-tron model line. In addition to the original e-tron (and its Sportback variation), the E-Tron GT has also been turning heads since it first drove off the production line. Next up in Audi's lineup is the Q4 e-tron, an electric crossover that fills the big shoes--or tire treads--that come with membership in such an all-star roster.

While the official announcement for the Q4 e-tron has lagged behind the vehicle's production, Audi reports that these cars started production in the spring. While details are still emerging about the car's specifications, the information that we already have is exciting! This groundbreaking model will share a platform with the Volkswagen ID 4, drawing on modular technology that Audi has developed through joint partnerships.

These specialty EV platforms allow for more sophisticated features and more effective EV powertrains while also reducing the overall vehicle cost! Audi has already revealed some exciting features that are being mounted on this platform, including a specialty augmented reality dashboard. More than 600,000 lines of code have gone into Audi's cutting-edge vehicle information displays, which projects important driving information at the bottom of the windshield, providing a safer and more engaged drive.
