Mazda is Working Toward a Greener Future
In a recent interview, Mazda president and CEO Akira Marumoto gave more information about Mazda's plans for a greener future. The new lineup is to include a new electric vehicle -- with a possible rotary-powered range extender -- set to be unveiled 2020, and a plug-in hybrid that's supposed to hit the road sometime in 2021 or 2022. By launching the EVs, and expanding their diesel offerings Mazda will be positioning themselves to meet new European emissions standards -- but these technologies will likely influence the company's U.S. offerings as well. Already, Mazda will be launching an ultra-efficient diesel-powered Mazda6 and CX-5 here in the U.S. this summer. So stay tuned!
