Giving Back - The Alpine Way

Alpine Bank is proud to call Colorado home. Since 1973, we've been giving back to the Colorado communities where we live, work and play.

Alpine Bank, formerly known as Roaring Fork Bank, opened in Carbondale on January 23, 1973, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Mayor Charles Kelly, Bank Director Wally deBeque and President Bob Young. The ribbon was made from 50 silver dollars attached to a string of tape. The money was donated to Mt. Sopris Park and marked the beginning of Alpine Bank's tradition of community giving and involvement.

More than 45 years later, hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals have benefited from Alpine Bank and Bob Young's generosity.

Community events, the arts, animal shelters, sports and recreation, and particularly children and education have been the focus of Alpine Bank’s philanthropy. Bob Young was recognized as the Colorado Philanthropist of the Year. In every Alpine Bank community, the bank is a major donor and supporter of local nonprofits.

Chairman Bob Young said he originally adopted his policies of giving back to the community because he thought it would be good for the bottom line. He has since realized, "It isn’t good for the bottom line, it is the bottom line."

Volunteerism

Every day, our employees provide their time and talents for efforts that are important to their local communities — some read to children, others help build Habitat for Humanity houses, some donate blood, or participate in walk-a-thons. In fact, each employee receives 24 hours of paid volunteer time each year.

That means as a corporation, we have the potential to devote over 14,000 hours per year helping improve the lives of individuals in our communities. We are proud of the many employees who generously donate so much of their time in support of charitable, civic and professional organizations.

Our History
Employee-owned and locally operated, Alpine Bank has been a part of Colorado since 1973. With 39 convenient locations, most recently including the bank’s first Front Range branches in Denver’s Union Station, Cherry Creek North, and Denver Tech Center neighborhoods, Alpine Bank serves more than 135,000 customers with personal, business, wealth management1, mortgage, and electronic banking services. While we are a growing company, we’re also forever committed to remaining the true community bank we’ve always been.

At Alpine Bank, the employees and the culture make the difference. Many of our employees and managers have been with Alpine Bank for 10 years or longer. This dedication allows us to build long-term community and customer relationships — in fact, many of our original Board of Directors still serve, including Alpine Bank Founder and Chairman Bob Young.

Because we are not a national banking chain, our size and streamlined organizational structure provide us the ability to make local decisions promptly.

Our Future
Alpine Bank is pleased to announce the addition of our Denver Tech Center (DTC) location. Located in the new One DTC West building, 4949 South Niagra Street, Denver.

Our newest Front Range location will allow us to serve the neighborhoods in the south Denver metro region. For the past 45 years, Alpine Bank has built strong personal and business banking relationships across Colorado. Our full-service branch in the DTC will enhance our existing front range locations in Union Station and Cherry Creek North.
